Pages: Turn Research Into Shareable Documents
- Create a Page from a Perplexity thread
- Edit and structure a Page before publishing
- Identify the best use cases for Perplexity Pages
From Thread to Document
A Perplexity thread is a research conversation. A Page is a polished document built from that research. The distinction matters: a thread is optimised for your process, a Page is optimised for your audience.
Pages are published web documents that anyone can read via a link — no Perplexity account required. They retain the citations from the thread that created them, making them credible references rather than unsourced write-ups.
Creating a Page
Open any thread and look for the "Create Page" option — it appears in the thread options menu. Perplexity drafts an initial structure from your thread's content: a title, an introduction, and sections that correspond to the main topics covered in the thread.
You can then edit the structure before publishing:
- Rename or reorder sections
- Add a new section and prompt Perplexity to fill it with additional research
- Edit the text of any section directly
- Add images, video embeds, or links
Pro subscribers can generate significantly more content per Page, including multi-section expert-level write-ups. Free users get basic Page creation with limited sections.
Publishing and Sharing
When you publish a Page, Perplexity generates a public URL. Anyone with the link can read the full Page. You can also embed Pages in external documents or websites using the embed code.
Pages retain all citations from the underlying research. Each claim traces back to a source the same way it does in a thread.
What Pages Are Good For
- Client briefings — Research a topic, build a Page, send the link. The client gets a readable, cited document without seeing the messy research process.
- Internal reports — Compile competitive analysis, market research, or regulatory summaries into a Page your team can reference.
- Meeting prep — Quickly generate a background Page on a company, topic, or person before an important meeting.
- Content foundations — Use a Page as a well-researched starting point for a blog post, newsletter, or presentation.
Current Limitations
As of 2026, Pages cannot be exported directly to PDF, Word, or external CMS platforms like WordPress. To move a Page's content into another tool, copy and paste from the published view. This is a known limitation — export features are on Perplexity's roadmap.
- Pages convert a research thread into a published, shareable web document — anyone can read it without a Perplexity account
- You can add sections, edit text, and include media before publishing; citations from the thread carry over automatically
- Pages work well for client briefs, internal reports, and meeting prep; they cannot be exported to PDF or Word yet
