Why Camera Movement Makes or Breaks a Clip

In film, camera movement is not decoration — it is storytelling. A slow push toward a character builds tension. A crane shot pulling back and up establishes scale. A tracking shot that follows someone creates momentum. The same principles apply to AI video, and the models have been trained on enough real cinematography to respond to them accurately.

The problem is that most people don't think about camera movement at all. They describe the subject perfectly and then let the AI decide how to film it. The result is often a static shot with generic motion — technically fine, cinematically flat.

These terms work consistently across all four major platforms:

Generate this prompt and then generate a version where you remove "tracks alongside her" — replace it with "static shot." Compare the energy of both clips. The tracking version feels alive; the static version feels like surveillance footage.
