## Subplot Types to Design

### Subplot 1 — The Mirror
A subplot that echoes the main theme through a secondary character, showing the same struggle from a different angle.

- How this subplot resolves differently than the main plot (affirming or complicating the theme)

### Subplot 2 — The Contrast
A subplot that complicates the theme by showing the opposite choice or outcome.

- What the contrast reveals about the theme

### Subplot 3 — The Complication
A subplot that directly interferes with the protagonist's ability to achieve their main goal.
- What practical obstacle this creates
- How it forces a choice that reveals character

## Integration Points

For each subplot, identify:
- Where it begins (chapter or story percentage)
- The 2-3 places it intersects with the main plot
- Where it resolves
- How its resolution echoes or sets up the main climax
