Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information — written in plain English.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you create an account, we collect your email address, chosen username, and optional display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive the name and email associated with your Google account.
When you submit prompts or tools, we store the content you submit along with your user ID. When you contact us, we store your name, email, and message.
Information collected automatically
When you browse OnePlaceForAI, we automatically collect certain technical information including your IP address, browser type, referring URLs, and pages visited. This is standard for any web server and helps us understand how the site is being used and fix problems.
We track basic usage events such as prompt views, copies, and saves. These are attached to your account if you are logged in, or stored anonymously if you are not.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect payment information (we have no paid tier). We do not build advertising profiles. We do not track you across other websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the OnePlaceForAI platform
- Authenticate you when you log in
- Show you your saved prompts, tools, and submissions
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset)
- Send our newsletter if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve the site based on aggregate usage patterns
- Investigate and prevent abuse, spam, or policy violations
- Respond to your support messages
We do not use your data to serve you targeted advertising, build profiles for third parties, or make automated decisions that affect you in a significant way.
3. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are necessary to operate the site:
- Session cookie — keeps you logged in during your visit. Expires when you close your browser or log out.
- Remember me cookie — if you check "remember me" at login, a secure token is stored so you stay logged in for up to 30 days.
- CSRF token — protects forms from cross-site request forgery attacks.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but core functionality like staying logged in will not work without session cookies.
4. Third Parties
We share limited data with the following third-party services to operate the site:
- Google OAuth — if you choose to sign in with Google, Google processes your authentication. Their privacy policy governs that interaction.
- Server host — our hosting provider has access to server logs as part of normal infrastructure operations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for marketing purposes. We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads remarketing, or any similar advertising technology.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal information within 30 days. Anonymised usage statistics (e.g. total prompt views) may be retained for analytical purposes with no link to your identity.
Contact form messages are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted.
Server logs are automatically rotated and deleted after 90 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data — you can update your profile in your account settings
- Delete your account and all associated personal data
- Export your submitted prompts
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email
- Object to any processing you believe is unlawful
To exercise any of these rights, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All connections to the site are encrypted via HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted to necessary server processes only.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately and change your password.
8. Children's Privacy
OnePlaceForAI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify registered users by email. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
